Marrickville Council: Justified or out of line?

Sydney’s Marrickville Council will write to the Indonesian Government this month asking it to alter death sentences imposed on three convicted Bali bombers. The Council will also ask Indonesia to spare the lives of six Australian members of the Bali Nine, sentenced to death by firing squad.

The move follows Amnesty International Australia’s recent bid to save the bombers. The organisation defended its position, citing its universal opposition to capital punishment as its motive.

Do you believe Marrickville Council is out of line? Do you believe the Bali bombers and the Australian members of the Bali Nine should be executed? Do you agree with the death penalty?
