16/05/2008 | Yass Valley Council has terminated the contract of its General Manager Kerry McMurray.
The Yass Tribune understands the termination occurred at an extraordinary meeting of councillors on Wednesday afternoon.
Acting General Manager David Rowe advised council employees of the news yesterday.
16/05/2008 | Betty Howard was born with ink in her veins. Her father Bert Mudge owned the Yass Evening Tribune and then the Yass Tribune. Betty started writing for the Tribune when she was a teenager and continued with occasional pieces into her 90s. Her life-time association with this newspaper ended with her death on Wednesday in Yass Hospital, aged 95.
16/05/2008 | Ivy Wade will turn 90 this Sunday, and is enjoying each day, particularly as she is now able to look after herself. She gardens and does her own shopping, and as she looks forward to Sunday when she’ll turn 90 Ivy feels she can’t complain.
