Ivy Wade will turn 90 this Sunday, and is enjoying each day, particularly as she is now able to look after herself. She gardens and does her own shopping, and as she looks forward to Sunday when she’ll turn 90 Ivy feels she can’t complain.
Many people will remember Ivy as an enthusiastic piano accordion player. That’s one thing she doesn’t do now, but she can play the piano and the organ, for which she’s very grateful. She’s also a competent computer user, and has a number of good friends.
Ivy will spend her birthday at home, with an afternoon tea planned for family members and any friends who’d like to attend. Cards will be accepted, but there’s a strict ban on presents: Ivy says she doesn’t want to acquire anything right now, but on the contrary to offload!
Ivy is fortunate in that she has a very close family, most of whom live in Canberra. She can look forward to Sunday, when most of her family will be with her: two children, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, including twin boys, now two and a half. Enjoy your birthday, Ivy.
