Kristy turns pages for MS

1/10/2008 5:00:00 AM
Kristy May Huey was one of many local children who spent the month of May turning thousands of pages for the 2008 MS Readathon. Thirty four Yass students collected over $3000 in sponsorship to help Australians living with multiple sclerosis. 11-year-old Kristy was one of the highest fundraisers in the region, reading 20 books and collecting $508 in sponsorship. When asked what motivated her to raise funds for the MS Readathon, Kristy said she thought it was special to raise money for MS.

“My other friends were doing the MS Readathon also. My mum is a nurse and has looked after people with MS and knows someone who has MS. The best part was getting sponsors and reading lots of new books that I would have never thought of.” Well done Kristy!
