Earlier this year the new proprietors of The Stables Tavern cleared more than 100 tonnes of blackberries, dead trees, and scrub from their Tavern and cottage surrounds at Wee Jasper and created the makings of a giant bonfire.

Visitors at the tavern have been asking Andy and Janet when to bring the kids to watch the burning and the date has finally been set for Saturday August 30.

All proceeds from from the steak and sausage sizzle on the night will be donated to The Wee Jasper Volunteer Bushfire Brigade.

The public are invited to the fundraiser bonfire at The Stables Tavern Wee Jasper from 5pm subject to weather. Enquiries can be made on 6227 9619.
