Enjoying Rugby

4/07/2008 1:53:00 PM
Yass Rams under 10s finally enjoyed a home game at Victoria Park. They played a bigger Vikings team who looked like they could have taught the Rams a rugby lesson. After an initial period of tough tussle, Yass began to gain the upper hand. Numerous players made strong breaks and gained heavy ground. The Yass Rams under 10s have raw talent and their rugby skills will improve when they learn to support the player with the ball and improve their dominance at the ruck and maul.

At half-time a Vikings player, who had an injury didn’t run on for the second half. In the true spirit of rugby, Bradley, Mark, Toby and Angus all took turns in a Vikings jumper. Mark even played so well he scored the Vikings only try. Well done and thankyou to you all.

Thankyou to Llewyn, who did a great job filling in as coach.

Yass’ newest referee, Ed, blew full time with the Rams running out comfortable winners 41–5.

Thank you Ed. You did a fine job, allowing the game to flow and encouraging open running rugby. Thank you also, to the merry band of family and friends who continue to support the side.
