Dear Editor,
Last month I had the enormous pleasure of joining local volunteers spread hope for a cancer free future by selling daffodils and other goodies as part of Daffodil Day. I’m thrilled to announce our supporters in the Southern region have to date helped raise over $200,000 for Cancer Council!
Many enthusiastic volunteers from the Yass Valley community took time out of their day to contribute to our goal of defeating cancer. Daffodil Day sites operated from early Friday morning and throughout the day to enable the community to support Daffodil Day on their way to work, during their lunchbreak or on their way home. It is fantastic to see the whole community supporting Daffodil Day in such an enthusiastic way.
All money raised on Daffodil Day will help Cancer Council deliver vital research, prevention, information and support services to the people of NSW.
I’m proud to be involved in this uplifting event and would like to thank the Yass Valley community for helping to lessen the burden cancer can have on our lives.
With your help less people will hear the words “you have cancer”.
